The Obama Hate Squad
Before he met Michelle Robinson, Barack Obama had no traction on the streets of Chicago. In a head-to-head contest against Bobby Rush, a charter member of the Black Panther Party, Barack Obama suffered a painful ego deflation. In their competition in the 2000 Democrat primary for Illinois’ first congressional district Bobby Rush had deftly whitewashed Barack as a creature of white culture – of his white mother and his white grandparents, his white girlfriends and his white and Jewish advisors and benefactors far from the gritty South Ward in rich-and-comfortable Hyde Park. “He went to Harvard and became an educated fool!” declared Bobby Rush, adding: “We’re not impressed with these folks with these eastern elite degrees.” Rush had whipped Obama 59.37% to 29.45%. When Barack had spoken to black congregations in the South Ward, his rambling dissertations in impeccable upper-class English had failed to connect.
To succeed in Chicago politics Barack needed a believable black persona. He studied blacks the way his anthropologist mother had studied exotic cultures; he built his black identity piece by piece. An essential piece of Barack Obama’s invented black persona is his wife Michelle.
Michelle Obama has been front and center in all of her husband’s political campaigns. She shared the stage with him at political events and by herself to promote her husband’s political agenda. She appears at fundraisers; she gives interviews in support of her husband’s political perspectives. Michelle Obama is her husband’s bridge to Black America; she is his badge of black authenticity.
Barack Obama has profited greatly by using his wife as his promoter, his defender and his lightning rod. On July 16th 0f 2008 Barack Obama was interviewed for an article in Glamour magazine. When the interviewer remarked that Michelle Obama’s negative ratings were higher than those of Cindy McCain, candidate Obama responded:
“Well, it’s infuriating, but it’s not surprising. Because, let’s face it . . . you know, what happened was that the conservative press – Fox News and National Review and columnists of every ilk – went fairly deliberately at her in a pretty systematic way, and treated her as the candidate in a way that you rarely see the Democrats try to do against Republicans . . . And I would not expect the Democratic National Committee or people who were aligned with me to do it, because essentially spouses are civilians . . . And I think that it’s an example of the erosion of civility in our political culture that she has been subjected to these attacks. And my attitude is that the people who have attacked her in the ways that they have, if they’ve got a difference with me on policy, they should debate me, not her.”
Let’s take a moment to unpack this paragraph. Just to be clear: After the two Obamas mutually agreed that Michelle would act as Barack’s surrogate at campaign rallies and speak to the media as his most intimate and knowing partner-in-politics, candidate Barack Obama got his shorts in a twist because his wife and chosen spokeswoman was being criticized for saying that, “For the first time in my adult lifetime I’m proud of my country,” (something no First Lady should ever say) and for using her razor-sharp tongue to slash away at her husband’s challengers. Michelle would go on to cement her public image of by showing up for a food bank photo-op wearing $540 Lanvin sneakers and by defrauding the taxpayers out of $250,000 by listing her daughters as “senior advisors” on a flight manifest so the girls could see some elephants in far away Africa.
Barack Obama’s pious petulance about the family members of candidates being “civilians” and therefore immune from criticism is vintage Obama hypocrisy. Democrats routinely transgress this boundary. Barack Obama is an habitual offender.
Barack Obama slimed his way up the political pyramid by not caring whose family or children he harmed. In his primary contest to become the Democrat candidate for the United States Senate, Barack Obama’s henchman, David Axelrod, urged the Chicago Tribune (Axelrod’s former employer) to pressure the court to release the intimate details of the divorce-court testimony of the wife of Obama’s political opponent. Obama used this testimony to smear his rival, who plummeted in the polls. The last thing Obama wanted to do was debate his rival on the issues.
When Barack Obama was running for the United States Senate in the general election he used the identical cowardly tactic against his Republican challenger. Obama’s friends and surrogates at the Chicago Tribune and in the Democrat-friendly judiciary dug up and released all the nasty intimate details that a spiteful wife could muster in her effort to maximize her divorce settlement. Obama’s Republican rival plunged in the polls and once again the dirt bag Obama clawed his way farther up the political pyramid without having to debate any issue or express any original idea.
Obama’s Foot Soldiers
Obama’s eager foot soldiers in the media slimed John McCain with a false accusation of adultery. During the 2008 presidential campaign the New York Times broadcast the total fiction that the 71-year-old Republican candidate John McCain was engrossed in a long-term romantic relationship with then-40-year-old lobbyist Vicky Iseman. The in-house “public editor” at the New York Times later concluded that this much-ballyhooed story lacked any supporting evidence. After that, Bill Keller, the executive editor of the Times expressed surprise that citizens of our republic took strong exception to the baseless slander of John McCain, a candidate in a presidential election. Bill Keller and the New York Times staff were, in truth, Obama’s surrogates doing Obama’s dirty work and Obama raised no objection.
When John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate, the liberal media launched a comprehensive assault on every aspect of Mrs. Palin as a person: her deportment, her wardrobe, her make-up, her parenting skills and even her choices for her children’s names. Nothing about Mrs. Palin was too trivial to ignore. Her children were the butt of jokes and the targets of ridicule by the Friends of Obama.
On June 8th and 9th of 2009 late-night television host and Obama fan David Letterman broadcast sexually themed jokes about a daughter of Sarah Palin. Mrs. Palin was in New York City at the time with her 14-year-old daughter Willow. Mrs. Palin responded that “I doubt he’s ever dare make such comments about anyone else’s daughter,” and “laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl” is “disturbing.”
Letterman was only one of many Obama emthusiasts who made repulsive wisecracks about Mrs. Palin and her children. Through it all, Barack Obama remained absolutely silent because these vulgar jerks were his people and their disgusting behavior was profiting Barack Obama.
President Obama demonstrated to America that David Letterman was his kindred spirit by appearing on Letterman’s late-night show twice after Letterman’s repeated revolting smears of Sarah Palin’s daughter. Obama’s appearances were endorsements of the show’s host; they were pay-back for a job well done. On the occasion of one of Obama’s appearances he had snubbed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying he couldn’t meet with the Israeli head of state because he had a “scheduling conflict.” To Barack Obama jabbering with slime ball David Letterman was more important that talking to the man who was being pushed to launch a first strike against Iran’s nuclear-weapons factories.
And then we have Obama’s millionaire soul mate Bill Maher who, during an appearance at StupidCrazyPolitics at the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, greased Obama’s super PAC, Priorities USA Action, with a check for one million dollars. Maher’s contribution swelled the PAC’s war chest by almost 25%.
The same Barack Obama who was outspoken when drawing a defensive perimeter around his wife and his children had no hesitation whatsoever about accepting a million dollars and an endorsement from Bill Maher, the repulsive misogynist who called Sarah Palin a “dumb twat” and a “cunt.” Didn’t Maher say “there’s just no other word for her”? Didn’t Bill Maher describe Mrs. Palin as the “leader of a strange family of inbred weirdoes”? Hadn’t Bill Maher fantasized about Mrs. Palin watching a Rick Perry appearance and saying, “If only he was black, I’d fuck him”? Hadn’t Bill Maher smeared Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol with the disgusting wisecrack that “the shit doesn’t fall far from the bat”? Hadn’t Bill Maher compared sweet Laura Bush, a wife, mother and former teacher, to “Hitler’s dog”?
There was not a peep of criticism from Barack Obama who was thrilled that this creep had greased him with one million bucks to fuel Obama’s record-breaking push to air the most negative attack ads in American history.
If Bill Maher had been calling Obama’s secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, a twat or a cunt, would Barack have said something? Would Mr. Obama have raised his voice if Bill Maher had called Obama’s daughters “shit” or “inbred weirdoes”? Of course he would and it’s the only thing you would have heard from the liberal media – everything else would have been pushed into the shadows. Even the completely silent National Organization for Women would have found its voice.
Most recently Bill Maher disparaged Ann Romney, the wife of Obama’s presidential rival, declaring that the mother of Mitt Romney’s five sons and the woman who struggles with multiple sclerosis, in Maher’s words, “has never gotten her ass out of the house to work.” Barack Obama’s response: total silence, even though Bill Maher is clearly a big-bucks benefactor and a vocal surrogate for Barack Obama.
The shabby defense from Team Obama is that Bill Maher is “just a comedian.” The slandering Bill Maher declared in an interview that it’s “crazy” to suggest an “equivalence” between himself and someone like Rush Limbaugh. And yet . . . when Bill Maher is summoned for interviews on CNN, MSNBC and sundry other broadcast news programs it is to offer his political opinions, not to deliver one-liners. These news organizations lend the gravitas of their news venues to Bill Maher as a political pundit. But every time Bill Maher crosses the line and exposes the vile essence of the American liberal psyche, Maher and his adoring fans, including Barack Obama, instantly retreat behind the curtain of “he’s just a comedian.
